Hello, I'm not sure if I'm a bit 'post-natal' or just in need of a reality check....

I'm ok most of the time but am a bit obsessive about DS (5m) sleeping - I hang around the monitor while he naps and if he wakes early it's like the End of the World.

I make a huge fuss, and it's worse if someone sympathetic (mum, or DH) is there. Then I fly into a rage and/or cry. I just can't seem to get perspective. When things are ok I can see how daft this is.

DS has reflux but otherwise is a pretty good bubba, and I have a damn easy life compared to some - why do I feel so sorry for myself??

Fed up with feeling sad for no reason

Someone kick me up the arse please

Yeah, but I haven't got that excuse either! DS sleeps well at night

I should consider myself lucky and stop moaning, I think!

No I dont think you should be too worried - you are perfectly insightful when you are feeling ok..Being a relatively new mum comes with its own stresses, that manifest themselves in different ways... dont be hard on yourself!

Thanks Helen, good point about the insightful-while-ok. Will let myself be!

Skybot - if my ds didn't sleep during his normal nap times I would freak out a bit. It was my time and I really resented it when it was disrupted. It felt so strange having NO control and no time to myself. Lack of sleep didn't help but I calmed down and got used to things.
See if you can have some time to yourself.
