Please bear with me, sorry if this sounds a bit muddled and odd that is how I feel right now. It is a genuine question.

I feel very odd and went to the doctor...who has arranged an emergency appointment with I think a psychiatrist? have not been sleeping and am hearing voices. Just wondered has this happened to anyone else and how you managed.

Just tell him/her everything that is troubling you even if it's embarrassing. Answer their questions, don't worry if the questions seem odd, just say so if you like.

They may ask things that seem off the point, but try to bear with them.

Don't try to be brave or make out that you're coping better than you really are. When you feel better you'll be able to see the point of it all.

This is easy to say, but try not to worry about losing control - you are taking control by getting help. Losing sleep is the worst - it's hard to think straight about your priorities when you're exhausted - let someone else help.

Hope you'll feel better soon

Thank you both for your replies, that is reassuring to know. I was worried I might be put in hospital

This all seems so silly because my little DS is the happiest, sunniest natured little boy you could hope to meet. I love him to bits.MY DP asks why is it happening and I don't know!

Nemo1977 what you describe is how I feel, its horrible.

janos same here i was scared of being sectioned etc but they could see no need. I was managing to care for my ds and told them that it was him who kept me going...He is also a happy confident little boy which is great considering i dont take him out as much as i 'should'

Nemo do you mind me asking how old is your DS? My DS is just coming up for 8 months. I did have an episode of PND starting before when he was about 10 weeks but thought I had recovered OK. Long boring story but the docs prescribed Fluoextine, today it for a month then stopped taking it cos I felt so much better - stupid I know!

This is much worse tho. Listen to me - sorry for going on.

OMG training at 3 weeks, that must have been so hard on you. Think I was still in my pjs all day at 3 weeks.

I was still in hospital after 5 days - my DS was 1 month early and I had a C section. I am amazed you managed to do any of that. I did go out (I think) but was a complete zombie.
