Has anyone tried it, and does anyone know where i can get some?

I've been depressed for years, mostly to do with being miserable because of my family, being unable to concentrate, feeling rotten because I can't get things done, being hopeless at my career. I exercise a lot, and eat good food, i sleep ok until I wake up nd worry about stuff.

I've got a lot more depressed over Christmas after a particularly horrible run-in with my mother some weeks ago.

I can't concentrate on stuff, and I have to get things done despite my brain being in a thick fog. I feel exhausted. Even my 5yo DS is beginning to call me silly and slow.

I have tried every antidepressant in the book, tried counselling, tried CBT. While CBT might work better if the therapist were not an idiot, I don't think ADs or more counselling are going to help. My GP admits that there's no evidence that antidepressants work for quite a lot of people.

So where can I get some modafinil to drag me through the next few months?

Is Modafinil really the right drug for you? It is available on prescription from your GP.

My GP refused to prescribe it due to it having lots of dodgy side effects. The US army dishes it out to soldiers to keep them awake when on tours of duty - but as my nice SP says, they just don't care about the health of these poor guys, just want to keep them upright whilst they get killed.

How about a better therapist? And keep researching ADs - something will come up which actually works for YOU.

Am in same boat BTW. Most counsellors are shite sadly IME, and can be patronising in the extreme
