Hi there ,I suffer with health anxiety badly ... and at times it takes over my life ...doc want me to try AD cliprmol i think its called ? 10mg to try relax calm me ...

as well as all that i have heavy periods and am thinking of trying the Marina hormone coil ?

does anyone know is it ok to start the 2 things at same time ,as i dont know what either will do to me ? quite scared as have read many bad reports about both ? and a few good ..

thanks

Firstly - the bad reports are always a lot more publisised than the good ones, so stop reading them please!

You probably need to discuss with your GP and your nurse if you are thinking about starting both around the same time. I haven't used either of them, so can't offer any advice along those lines, sorry.

I have anxiety too as part of my condition (BPD) so do sympathise. ADs do help, and it is at least worth trying. Also, if one doesn't work / they aren't compatible, don't worry about trying a few until you find whichever one it is that happens to work best for you as an individual

All the best.

Thank you Erika ,
bit calmer at moment so trying to sort things out a bit till next wave comes ....
maybe would be good to start just one thing first and see ..

I was on the combined pill and ADs at the same time if that's any help.

Yes, take advantage of the clear headed moments, sometimes they feel like they're so rare! But do try and remind yourself that each wave is only temporary and will clear.

If you're going to start one first, would recommend you talk to your GP. Depending on how much they, and you of course, think you need some help, it would change which one they would put you onto. I would expect it to be the coil as that messes with your hormones. But hey, I'm not a doctor

Thanks again , hormones the bane of my life i think all anxiety comes worse around that time ...then a few weeks clear then hormone rush again ...grrrrr although im not just blaming that on my anxiety ..as never used to be like this ...
do you take anything now ?

Im trying myself CBT .. hmmmm got a book anyway ....
tried counceling but not found right one i dont think ,
tried hypnosis that was quite good but expensive ..

just want to be how i used to be .....grrrsad

ciramil 10 mg is a mild anti depressant. I would just do one thing at a time just incase you get side effects from AD's.otherwise you will not know which thing is causing them.

sorry that should have said cipramil..oops

mumof2000 Tue 13-Oct-09 21:43:50

thanks alypaly , hink could be the way to go ...makes sense to do one at a time .

I'm on Prozac, and I can't fault them They help me live a reasonably normal life, and think more rationally about things.

Have you heard of Tapping? Its supposed to be really good for anxiety. I only tried it a few times, but did help.
