Using St John's wort to treat anxiety

Do you think it would work? I am not depressed but I am getting weirdly obcessional. I don't have any depressive symptoms. Infact my mood is quite bouyant.

For example I am getting obcessed about reading food labels to the point of being ridculous. I am panicing about weaning my baby even though its my second child. I am developing a fear of large crowds.

I am being silly, but I feel too embrassed to go to the GP.

Please do go to the GP, there is really no need to be embarrassed. Is it possible that you're suffering from PND? I know you say your not depressed but anxiety was one of my strongest symptoms...

I don't know if St John's wort helps anxiety, it may well, but it does effect hormonal contraceptives, so beware.

I used St John's Wort when I was a bit up and down after having my daughter. It helped, esp with the general low-level anxiety. I used it every day, then reduced it to every other day. But no good if b'feeding, I think.
