Not heard of it, but if it is the same thing as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) then I have had that and am happy to talk to you about it. What do you know about how an ERT session works? That might give a clue.

Hi Lio,

Thanks for the reply!

I seen someone mention it in a post yesterday and they had said that it totally cleared them of anxiety? I suffer from anxiety and would love to be free of it!!!

I did a little research on the net yesterday and even called a therapist of ERT (who said that EFT & ERT are really the same thing, hmm). He gave me the main website which is www.emofree.com. I had a look on there and to be honest it seems to good to be true!

What I was wanting to know was 1. How effective is it? and 2. What does it involve.

Thanks again! x x x

EFT worked for me in one session which took place by phone with Sarah Holland (link later). I needed a lot of tissues

It sounds very weird and I totally understand anyone who learns a bit about it and decides it's not for them. Sarah talked to me for say 10 or 20 minutes about the think I was anxious about (had bad first birth experience and got very anxious approaching seond birth). She was brilliant at understanding each stage of where the process went wrong for me, and obviously had taken very good notes during our conversation, which she used in the second part of the phone call, which is where she talked me through each 'bad' thing, while talking me through various parts of my head/face/shoulder to tap firmly and repeatedly (told you it was weird!). I can't remember how long this bit took, maybe half an hour? You repeat each bit of the problem, acknoweldging the fear and bad feelings associated with it, and letting you forgive and accept yourself (I think. This was 3.5 years ago, so memory a bit hazy). She is a lovely lovely person. I had been to her for reflexology so I knew her a little bit, but I'm sure she'd talk to you about it by phone (or contact her via her website) before committing. It is perfectly fine by phone, and in some ways perhaps easier, because it meant I wasn't worrying about her seeing me with snot and blubbing

Here is her home page www.tapintoyourpotential.com/index.htm

After that one session, I got anxious infrequently, to a much lesser degree, and could deal with it myself quickly and easily - she teaches you how.

I can't remember how much it cost - maybe somewhere between £50-100? Worth every penny for me. Good luck!

Hi yommy and lio

ive also been having EFT for about a year and a half tackling all sorts of issues, emetaphobia, anxiety, pnd, loss of confidence at work etc. You can use it on anything pain, stress, dieting and upping your golf score (find that slightly weird!).

It has been amazingly effective for most things we have worked on (the phobia is proving hard to shift though its got a lot better). My practitioner is wonderful (and ive had enough shit therepy to be able to judge!) and you learn to apply it to yourself so you can do quite a lot of work on your own. In fact if you cant afford a councellor you can teach yourself - the manual is free from the emofree website.

I know i sound like an evangelist for some weird alternative therepy but ive tried a lot of things and this is the only one that has been effective... really recommend it.
