The past month and a half has been really tough, I had a very disturbing dream a month or so back about my ds being abused by people I had let into the house. It affected me so much I was plauged by obbsessive thought for a couple of weeks after and constantly checking his window etc to see if anything had been broken. Things got better but just yesterday more thoughts surfacing from before about our neighbour and last night another nightmare about our neighbour this time, I cant understand this pre-occupation. When the htoughts were at their worst I actullay thought all the people close to me could be abusing him (even my dp). the thoughts are still lingering. I havnt seen a doctor because I feel a ten minute appointmet isnt really enough time to discuss the whole thing. I dont know I just wondered what others thought about this.help.........

Since I've come on to MN I have found out that this sort of thing is quite common.

I have been getting strange thoughts since dd was born and my gp thought I had PND and prescribed some AD's but my HV recognised it as anxiety and Obsessive thoughts. She refered me to a specialist but she was more towards ladys with PND.

There are so many things you can do to help, maybe the first step would be a visit to your HV and she what they say.
