Anyone on Sertraline? Help and support needed.

I am on half a tablet of Sertraline a day. This is the third day and just like last time I feel shaky, irritable and detached from reality. Last time I stopped taking it, preferring the odd worse day - I couldnt bear to feel irritable and detached around DD.

I know I should continue, so if anyone can advise or support, please do - thank you.

I have been on these tabs a few different times and found similar things. for the first 2 weeks i generally felt sick all the time. however this did pass and i started to feel better soon after this.

How long did you take it for last time? if it was only days, i would stick with it for a bit longer. it does get better.

Thanks MelT76, I was only on it for three days last time and it was on the third day that the symptoms started. I hate that i feel worse, feels like it affects my ability to parent DD.

i was taking this for PND and it made me feel pretty crap for about a week and then things started improving. Most ADs won't really kick in for about two to three weeks, so please try and stick with it.

I've also taken fluoxetine in the past and felt so much less detached from reality with the sertraline than the fluoxetine....things still moved me, I had some semblance of sex drive and felt altoghether more me, iyswim.

It will get better, these intial problems last such a short time.

It is bearmama , but I am coming out of the other side after suffering in silence for years (although I'm pregnant again and who knows what will happen when the baby is born!) and feel so much better about the world again, after thinking for years that feeling so down was normal
