Feeling Lonely

Hello, I have just joined this today, I have recently moved back to Herne Bay in Kent, to be nearer my family. My husband is a submariner in the navy and is away a lot of the time. Moving home should have meant that I would have a better social life, baby sitters on tap and a sister that is a good friend as well would come out with me as I am 28 and still like to get away from being a mum every now and again. But she keeps letting me down. This weekend I have a baby sitter but no one to go out with, so my only option is to go to the cinema on my own, which is really sad. Is there anyone out there that wants a friend, I have two girls one is 6 and one is 21 months.

Hi Pinkwebby! sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down. Try posting this on a mumsnet meet-up topic and put Herne Bay, Kent in the title - hopefully some other mumsnetter will live near you. I'm in Leeds... a bit too far!
Anyway, keep on mumsnet, you definately won't feel lonely then, although I warn you, it's very addictive

I was just about to say what littlemissbossy said welcome to mumsnet, there's lots of us here to listen and for a giggle even if you don't find anyone very near to you (but I'm sure you will!)

I think I am going to like this discussion board. It is lovely to hear I am not the only person out there that gets a little bit fed up of my own and my childrens company all the time.

I lived in Scotland for the last 7 years but moved, back down to be nearer family. I have some good friends up there but it is to far away for a coffee.

I tried to find the topic mentioned about forces wives, but failed to, can you tell me how to get there.

Thanks

Pinkwebby, no of course you're not on your own! I get very fed up, i do have dp but don't know anyone well that has children. It does get lonely, i think everyone feels like that from time to time.

If you go to "active converstaions" and scroll down untill you see "Army wives club" I think That's the thread.

HTH

Oh, and if you can't see it on active conversation, go to "topics" then "chat" then scroll, again until you see Army Wives Club

That would be great, my two daughters go to school and nursery in Canterbury, St Thomas's so that would be really nice. Would you like to meet for a coffee next monday at say 1.45, I dont have to pick my 6 year old up until 3, what do you say? Where would you like to meet?

Monday is fine for me. Shall we say 1.45pm outside Monsoon near the cathedral? We could go to Starbucks perhaps? I'll have ds with me.
