Hi all!

Do you have personal experience of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)?

I am a trainee clinical psychologist at Newcastle University. I would like to invite Mumsnet members who have personal experience of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) to complete a short, anonymous survey which will help us to design future research into this often debilitating condition.

We are planning to conduct a research study to help us to learn how certain behaviours and thought processes keep people 'stuck' in OCD, in the hope that this may help us to better understand how we could intervene to break the cycle of OCD.

However, before we begin the main study, it would be really valuable to gather feedback from people with experience of OCD about our plans for the full study.

As this is more of an early 'feedback' stage, where the data won't be analysed but will just be used to inform future research, informed consent is not required at this stage. When we conduct future research, however, there will be a much more formal consent process as you've suggested :)
