Don't know what to achieve by writing this so I apologise.
I have battled bipolar 2 for years I have more lows then highs with intrusive thoughts and anxiety.

This is no life and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. My poor kids having me for a Mother

Not sure I can offer much advice but I thought I'd let you know you're not alone. I haven't been diagnosed with bipolar (yet) but I have a feeling it's edging that way. Are you on any medication?

Yes- 200mg sertraline 150mg twice daily of lamotrigine 200mg of quetiapine and 2.5mg pericyazine when I need it for anxiety.

I'm definitely going through a depressive period though today I achieved getting dressed and going for a walk with the kids.
Suggestion of changing antidepressants which I'm reluctant to do as these have worked well for years and I'd have to come off them completely to start venlafaxine

Sorry to hear this, OP.Thanks Venlafaxine's brilliant, though.

It's very hard switching medication, you feel like such a science experiment and it's often not small changes that occur Sad I'm only on sertraline at the moment but will be going back to my gp for extra help once things have settled a bit. Big hugs to you too x

It's so hard because I have traditionally struggled with meds changes. To go from an SSRI (sertraline to a SNRI (venlafaxine) is not simple I'd have to wean off sertraline basically to start taking venlafaxine.
Struggling tonight to be honest- an event from my childhood which I thought I'd got over years ago suddenly popped into my head the other day which resulted in this latest depressed period. Anxiety my brain feel so tired. Last night I felt very bad to the point my husband removed my medication because I have a history of this.
I hate my life, my kids my husband bring me so much joy but I can't feel that they would be better off without me- to have a new fun mum

I've been discharged last year from my mental health team and psychiatrist despite a bad name I've had nothing but a great experience as well as my amazing GP over the years which I'm very thankful for.

The people who love you will never be better off without you, although I've been in that horrible place many times, when it all feels hopeless and you just want the shit to stop. It's awful. And most people who haven't been that low don't really get it, not properly. It definitely sounds like you need something tweaked, is it possible to get back in touch with your mental health team for some more support?
