Mental health

Council Tennant seeking transfer

I wasn't sure where to make a thread in to ask a quick question and seek advice.
I do have mental health and have been suffering psychosis after the birth of my twins in Feb 2018 and have been struggling to live in one bedroom flat with my husband and 6 year old son and the 1 year old girls. Anyhow we are residing in a permanent council property and have been bidding for a larger property for just over a year. The council have made a few new builds and on the new builds I am number 4 and 5. (Basically the closer to one the more likely) I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and if they were successful in moving out. From what I recall from my councils website, they only offer council new builds to existing tenants so I'm assuming I have a chance. I really hope I do get it and yeah this post is merely to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

I was about 20 in line for council property when bidding, I received a letter asking if I was still interested & then it became mine. Apparently it needed fair bit of work after previous Tennant moved so was a while before actually available & the other 19 had already found somewhere. So it can happen even if you aren't no1, those people will have also bid on other properties or may have reasons for not accepting.

It must be hard when so close on the list & this seems like an ideal property but there will be others & may work out better. I bid on a place down the road & it makes me thankful my neighbours are nice.

Is your banding taking into account your health issues?

Ditto has your health been factored in? Sounds like you are close. Good luck Flowers

No my mental health hasn't been fully mentioned. The reason being is because my mental health is not to do with my flat. Infact to a certain degree living in a small flat with the kitchen bathroom and bedroom so close has helped since iv had the twins. Id feel bad lying and making out I desperately need to move because of my mental health.

It's a tricky one because when I bid for new builds council properties I'm within the 1-5 region but for normal council properties I'm over 150. I think it's because in my area in order to bid or even be accepted for a new build you have to be an existing tenant and not everyone who bids is a council Tennant. I really hope I do get it, it's such a lovley property

Mind me asking what borough was this for if that's not too personal. I'm in east London and it's very busy down here. And after how long of the initial bid did you receive a letter?
