hey, i posted yesterday about a late period and antidepressants.
well, today i took three pregnancy tests and they were all positive....
that being said, does anyone know if being on antidepressants can cause false positives?
or, does being on antidepressants affect pregnancy at all?
really worried as last pregnancy ended up in miscarriage so want to take all precautions to make it a viable pregnancy....

Hello, I take citalopram 30mg and am now heavily pregnant. There are some undressed risks with my meds & pregnancy. However, I came off them before ttc & got seriously ill again so discussed with doc that for me benefits outweighed the risks and so far so good. I'd suggest discussing with your GP as soon as poss as advice varies depending which domed you take. Also, coming off ADs should be a gradual process, closely supervised & ideally with some other support (I had CBT & spent 6 months gradually reducing dose).
I also had a miscarriage before this preg but for my age 1/5 pregnancies end in miscarriage so it's impossible to say what caused it.

increased risk that was meant to say. I've never heard about false positives so really hope this is the real thing for you! Thanks

I am on citalopram and trying to conceive, I asked the dr last week if it was okay to take them through pregnancy and she said it's totally fine.

Congratulations!
I've never heard of anti-depressants causing false positives.
