Sertraline and sex

I'm on sertraline and have been for around 9 months. My sex drive is still there and I find it easy to get turned on mentally and physically. The problem is reaching orgasm is much harder than it once was. I'm with a new partner who I find incredibly sexy, who is very attentive and doing all the right things to get me off... It is very frustrating!!! Has anyone else been on sertraline and found that this has improved? I really don't want to stop taking it as it keeps me on an even keel and has been wonderful for my anxiety.

I was on sertraline and found the same thing - took way longer to orgasm. However, it went away after a couple of weeks, but came back and went again each time I had my dose increased.

9 months is a long time though, and in my experience side effects are usually either there for the first few weeks then go or they stick around for good.

Hopefully it'll go away for you too, but if not you could maybe try another anti-d - this didn't happen for me with citalopram, for example - providing the change won't be too disruptive.

It's really good that you've found something that helps with your anxiety though! Just so frustrating that it can't be perfect.

Thanks for your reply! I'm reluctant to change because the start up side effects were really severe for me and I'm scared to experience that again. Maybe it's something I will just have to put up with.
