I'm phasing back to work (senior role) after having a fair amount of time off with depression and I'm worried sick. My confidence is at an all time low and I'm terrified I won't be able to do it.

Anyone been through this and come out shining?

dont overthink it.remember depression and mental illness is like a demon on your shoulder.alsmot like it will feed you any whispering to bring and rell you back into it.so itl tell you you might fail itl feeds you all the doubts one might have.becasue it wasnts you to feel crap.depression is the crap thougts monster.
but it is also a valid illness like any other.so if it creeps in remember that.
it isn't you.
just like kidney desease or cancer or heart problems aren't the person who suffers with that.
the difference is its symptoms are dark and doubting thoughts but those symtoms you can fight just be keeping tlling yourself its an illness.
you have come so far to even start to go back to work.
it will take a while.it might be tiring but wow how amazing will it be to get back to being productive.to using ur brain for good again.
you can do it.
and remember if you ont get it all right on the first day that's ok.
depression robs from both mind and body and is exhausting so to do anything passed that is brilliant.

You will be ok! I've been where you are and it's not easy. I got through by purposefully having something good to look forward to. I also tried distraction from myself. I also began to recognise that the depression was playing games with me.

Each morning I would look at myself in the mirror and tell myself that I could do it. That it was all going to be ok and that I deserved to be happy. I faked a smile for alot of days into weeks. I made sure I had some time to myself each day and I went to bed early. I love my bed and it's one of the only places I feel secure. I reconnected with friends, started getting outside for fresh air. It took a while.some days were incredibly difficult but I got through it and made sure I told myself i was doing a good job. Eventually it got better! Be kind to yourself op. Depression is exhausting and you do need to respect yourself and the depression.
