I was told repeatedly by my mother that she didn't like me. I inevitably grew up believing everyone one I meet won't like me.

My child has recently started nursery and I thought to myself today: what if they don't like him.

Holy fuck!!!! He is the most wonderful little person. How could I even think this?

It sounds like your mother had really knocked your confidence

As you know, not EVERYONE you meet, is going to like you..it is a fact - you can't make everyone like you.

However some people will like you and love you - and they are the ones to focus on, not the ones who aren't really your cup of tea

Does it really matter what other people think? No it doesn't.
