Breakdown in work :(

Horror struck again today when I broke down at work- became anxious, felt under pressure, tried to talk and burst into tears. So exasperating and such a set back when you want to appear competent in work . I know it's ok, and can't be helped once in a while- I had therapy yesterday, but God it's so awful and I'm back in to face everyone tomorrow.

Well have just started a new job, so it's both understandable I suppose and undesirable when you want to make a good impression.

Oh don't worry. When I was suffering pnd I burst into tears in front of a very high level manager and was incoherent and babbling. You are only human.

Yes explaining why you are crying, while crying, doesn't work too well. My workplace is the sort where everyone has to be though though

It sounds like you are carrying a lot of pain around with you and the thoughts you are having provide with what feels like a way out of the pain.
It sounds like it would benefit you to discuss further with your GP and access a talking therapy, be this face to face or over the phone. Samaritans are also excellent to help talk through what you are feeling - Tel: 116123 24hrs 7 days per week.

Flowers woolly. You're not alone in crying at work: since my redeployment to a much more busier store I've broke down twice in the past 6 months (because of management)and tbh it's a crap dead end job and not even worth it. I know it might be difficult if you've just started a new job, but is there any chance you could get signed off sick for a short while? You sound as if you could do with a bit of respite. Please take care.

Thanks all just seen these comments. I think it's hard because there was no event that upset me, it was just tears of anxiety and tiredness and after the therapy the day before. I love the therapy though and it has given me many skills. If I could have hidden the upset it would have been better, but since it's happened, miss best for me just to accept it as part of my experience. If anyone asks I'll say it was tiredness or may say I am having counselling.

Well back to work tomorrow : feeling anxious whereas before the tears I was ok. This sort of thing makes it harder, not easier. But I have to accept it.
