Worried about friend

I normally lurk on the baby pages so I hope you don't mind me coming over to ask for advice!!!

I have a friend who has suffered for several years from a large number of health issues. When I first met her she was mostly bothered by muscular problems and an allergy to perfume. It's got progressively worse over the years to the extent that me and our other friends are getting really worried about her. She now has allergies to nearly every kind of food - and has got really thin as a result as she barely eats - she can't stand light or noise, and she's allergic to electricity to the extent that she can't sleep and the only way she feels calm is to go lie near the river just outside of town centre.

She has appointments every single week with doctors and physical therapists but if anything it just seems to make her worse. None of her allergies have been confirmed or treated by the doctors either.

Her relationship with her partner is strained now and she's had to give up her part time job as she's too ill so she's struggling with her finances too.

I know this is all physical health but me and some friends are wondering if it might be linked to mental health? I've had anxiety for about a decade and know that when I'm not being careful I can worry about my health to the extent that I feel physical symptoms, so I'm wondering if it's the same for her? And we don't know what to do to help her as we've tried to bring it up with her before but she cuts us straight down.

I know you can't diagnose her from over the Internet but if you have any experience or advice of this I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
