New fear?

I had my little boy 5 years ago. It was a natural trouble free birth. I suffered with panic attacks for a while but they are few and far between now.
Since I have given birth for some reason I can't put my head under water and can't stay long in the pool without feeling a panic attack about to start.
How can I learn to love the water again? This has come from nowhere. I used to love swimming. Can anyone help?

I really can't help as I am a water baby and never given birth... But I don't want you to go without any replies.

Would it be worth booking in for adult swimming lessons, explain your anxiety to the instructor and see if they can build your confidence.

Another sugestion following my experiences would be nlp ( neurolinguistic programming ) as this has completely resolved my anxiety and PTSD, there are a lot of nlp techneques that can be used to build confidence, its used a lot in sports psychology to help atheletes overcome anxiety and improve performance.

Thank you anxious carer. I will look to see if my local swimming pool offer adults classes and go from there.

Sounds good, our council pools offer lessons for adults, I think its quite common for people who either have never learned to swim or want to improve their confidence xxx
