Pregabalin and insomnia

Does this at a low dose actually help insomnia ? At 75mg ? Will it lead to the weight gain side effect I hear about at a low dose . Was prescribed it and am feeling unsure, but desperately need to calm down my mind and have some sleep

I take the highest dose for pain relief with fibromyalgia. It works for this. I do sleep better than I used to, but am on quite a substantial cocktail of drugs for various conditions so can't really put it down to pregabalin.

My consultant was a brilliantly blunt Chinese lady. She said the side effects can be weight gain, but that the pill itself does not make you gain weight, it increases your appetite. "So don't eat more, and you won't gain weight" was her advice!! I took This on board and in the spirit she intended. I consciously didn't eat more than I needed, and didn't gain weight.
