Ive been on Citalopram 10mg for 2 years now - recently halved down to 5mg and tried to come off them (have tried coming off them before and went straight back on)
Doesn't appear to be going very well....

Does anyone else here suffer with memory/concentration problems on these? My memory is SHOCKING! and at 26 I'm convinced it must be the tablets

Also, how have others successfully weaned off these devil tablets?? I can't see myself ever being ok without them at this rate !

I'm on 10mg aswell & my memory is terrible! Has your memory been bad the entire time you have been taking them or did it improve at all?! I'm also 26 but feel I have the memory of a 96 year old!

I find I go through phases, sometimes I really notice it's bad and others times it's not such a problem.
Ive always been a bit ditzy and forgetful even before I started them but definitely worse over the last year or so...
Quite nice to know there's others my age who have the same problem - here's to feeling 96! Wine

Yes I came off these recently and one of the reasons was that after 4 years of being on them I felt like I was in a kind of fog- my brain just would not function properly. I am about one month free now and am awake as have just started having night earrings and anxiety again but am loathed to go back on citalopram as I feel like the memory problems will start over again!

As for giving up - I went down to 5 mg then just had to stop outright one day. For me it was about a week where I felt physically odd - funny sparky feelings in my brain - but then they went. Weirdly for me just taking paracetamol helped for them.

Although sleeplessness and anxiety have returned I am hoping it's just having to look after kids on my own for half term whilst dh away as I really don't want to go back on them. I just started a college course and I feel like I am able to use my brain for the first time in years
