Am on low dose (20mg) fluoxetine for severe pMt, have been for years. Life has become even more stressful than normal (which is VERY stressful; 2 kids with medical conditions, one is very stroppy teenager, endless hospital apts and chasing prescriptions. Plus work, and useless DH ) Ds2 has epilepsy; had a weird seizure in car when I was driving on Sunday, looked like he was having a stroke. Ended up in A &E for 6 hours. I'm still exhausted from that, plus he had another small one last night. I feel shite. Want to curl up and cry the whole time. Am snapping at everyone and being a bitch. Tried to see GP today; 20 minutes to get through on phone, all appointments gone. I need to get a grip so I can deal with everything. Would it be stupid to take extra fluoxetine for a few days until I can see GP?

Sorry things are so stressful at the moment. I would advise you to speak to your GP first. I think you would be justified in asking for an urgent appointment with everything that is going on. You could even ask for a telephone appointment to ask about increasing the dose.

If you can't see your GP.. at least read up on the internet before you do anything. There will be info about dosage, dependancy and withdrawal somewhere.

Good luck
