I don't know what's happening but in the past hour I've become exceedingly anxious & upset. My period is due in a few days and I clearly have PMT but the emotional side is awful and I'm meant to be going out with friends soon.
I'm feeling sick and so anxious at the thought of it. I keep thinking there's something seriously wrong with me.

Please can anyone help? I don't want to let my friends down - why am I dreading it so much?

Hi Tricky, where are you meant to be going?

I'm going to a friends house for drinks, it's for her birthday & there will only be a small number of us but I feel panicked & so anxious. I think it must be part of the pmt but I haven't been affected like this before.

My anxiety flairs up worse before I come on too so know exactly how you feel, horrible feeling. Are you anxious about going out or just in general?

In general but it's just got worse in the last couple of hours. I have this
horrible feeling of doom & gloom and feel really low. I don't know how i'm going to speak to anyone without bursting into tears.

Thanks Mumble how do you cope with this when you feel it? My head is just full of worries, I can't stop over thinking things. Wish I could just be happy.

I'm on citralopram due to anxiety disorder so obviously that helps. It's hard because once you get out and meet your friends it will probably take your mind off things, have a couple of drinks to take the edge off ( not too many though cos that will just make you feel worse). If you really don't feel up to it could you say your not feeling too good?
