My leg is driving me crazy... is it a bad idea to go cold turkey?

I started taking 50mg sertraline 3 weeks ago. I finally feel like it might me making a difference to my mood but since Tuesday I have had a permanent cramp in my right calf. Not the waking in the night screaming in pain type of cramp, but the annoying, niggling pain you get when you know the real hurty cramp is about to happen. My calf muscle is now sore to the touch, I assume because it's been tense for so long.

I'm due to take todays dose of medication now but I don't want to. I want this bloody cramp to stop! How bad is it to go cold turkey?

Cold turkey isn't nice. Could you take half for a few days and see if it helps ease your leg? Or skip a dose and take one tomorrow? If this doesn't help you should go back and see your GP as there are plenty of other alternative meds that you could try instead. It's a bit of trial and error really.

are you sure this is the sertraline? It is a bit odd that it started a couple of weeks after you started the meds. I would recomend seeing your GP to get it checked out/rule out other causes and discuss your options with them.

I had this too when I started on Sertraline, along with EVERY other symptom listed in the instructions.
I took ibroprofen and elevated it at every opportunity for about 4 days and it gradually subsided.
The meds themselves have been my saviour and were worth ever symptom I suffered for 6 weeks at the beginning.
Please stick with them.
