Dealing with mood changes - how do you do it?

Recent pregnancy loss plus hormones still in my system are causing 'big' drops in moods and instability. Memory loss, not being able to follow things, absorb information and concentration poor. It is affecting my work and others have noticed, expressed concern..
I feel I want to hide, deal with it in my own way until I'm 'ready' to emerge.. Does that make sense?
Taken the first step today, saw gp and prescribed sertraline again..
Just in those dark times, when you struggle to put on the 'front' and the changes of mood seem impossible to control, how do you deal with it?
Would love support , non judgemental to be me and work through it with a gentle hand to hold..

Do you have a supportive family? Could you be signed off work for a month and maybe see a counsellor?

I don't have a supportive family no. Don't feel I can talk to them about it and I haven't told my mum. I'm trying to avoid being off work and muddle through somehow. I'm exhausted. I've arranged some councelling however it's a few weeks away but I do have time off work coming up over Easter anyway.
Can't seem to get stable and depending where I am depends how I feel. I really don't know what normal is anymore? But I know something is wrong...

I am sorry for your loss.

Well done on seeing the GP. If sertraline has worked for you before it should help again.

When things are really tough I get through by trying to be extra kind to myself. I use the Buddhify app on my phone to do quick meditations eg on the bus to work or during my lunch break. I use CBT techniques to remember that my thoughts are not always accurate, and mindfulness to help myself stay in the present. I find the mornings hardest so I try to be very mindful and gentle then. I find having hot drinks very soothing, especially herbal tea at night.

The Mindful Way Through Depression is a kind and helpful book (recommended on the book thread) that from what you say sounds like it might be useful for you.

Sleep is mega important for me. I take Nytol sometimes to help me sleep.

I have struggled with memory loss etc too. I try not to judge myself for it and I try to write things down. I use an app called Remember the Milk to make to do lists which has helped.

You say others have expressed concern, is there anyone you can confide in?

I hope you feel better soon.
