I'm too old to be behaving like this

I'm sorry if this offends other posters. I really don't judge anyone else.

My mental health has recently deteriorated. I'm taking ADs, not really feeling like they are helping. I saw my GP today and found it impossible to explain anything. I just couldn't find the words. I got a new prescription and came home and felt completely overwhelmed by my feelings. I can't explain it well, it was almost like feeling empty to the point that it hurt.

I have felt the need to hurt myself for weeks now to relieve feelings and I did. It was a relief. Very superficial. Nothing serious. I've never done this before. I'm a very grown up mother of two. I'm in my 40s. I cannot believe I am unravelling like this.

You must be feeling so down to have done it. I have a young relative who SHs. It's the only relief she gets from her MH conditions, I think

Please take care not to put yourself in danger. We can help by caring x

You are not offending anyone. It's rubbish but there's no age limit on being ill.
Re the GP can you take notes in future. I often couldn't find the words.
Can you put a plan in place in case you want to SH again? Who to call? What to do instead?

Sorry about your young relative Marchate. I feel like i should be coping better with life at my age.

Long cold walks up steep hills while my youngest naps has been getting me through but it's getting harder to get out of dark places. Yes I need some preplanned distractions Wolfie.

I'm normally quite self aware and capable. I'm losing to the horrible feelings at the moment.

Every age has its own problems x
