Can my sister go back on paroxetine?

My sister is currently about 14 weeks pregnant. Her midwife is advising her it is ok to go back on paroxetine but she is a bit anxious about it. Does anyone here know anything about it?

I genuinely don't know, but if her midwife has encouraged her, I would take her advice. I was told by a psych that they genuinely don't really know the effects of drugs on an unborn child because obviously, it's not ethical to test things on pregnant women, but generally, once the first trimester is out of the way things are OK. Judging from this info mothertobaby.org/fact-sheets/paroxetine-paxil-pregnancy/ what little evidence there is shows that there is little to no increased risk, and that the risks of untreated depression could actually be more severe. Has she asked her GP too?
