Does anyone take anything other than Amitriptaline for long term insomnia?

I have suffered insomnia for over 20 years now. My depression is being well controlled on Fluoxetine and I take 10mg Amitriptaline each night to help me sleep. I also have sleeping tablets for occasional use.
I think it is the Ami that makes me feel washed out and dizzy during the day.
Does anyone use anything else for long term insomnia that doesn't cause this sluggishness please?

I take Mirtazapine 15mg.

I was terrified of taking it after reading horror stories of how it made them put on huge amounts of weight and made them sleep all day but Ive been taking it for nearly 3 months now and I feel fantastic.

I was literally getting 2 hours sleep a night. I tried Amitriptyline but it didn't really work for me. The Mirtazapine works really well. I thought initially it was that which actually made me fall asleep but Im falling asleep on the sofa in the evenings now about 9.30 before Ive even taken it-spoke to GP who said it obviously really agrees with you and its helping my anxiety over sleep as well and enabling me to fall asleep naturally.

I used to take quetiapine which really helped me sleep, have you tried that?

I have been on Mirtazapine before and remember it helped me sleep well but didn't do much for the depression. It made me see double for a while though. Its worth a try though.
I have never heard of Quetapine though but will look it up. Am sick of being dizzy x
