How do we start liming ourselves and get over things we regret?

Just that really. I've read in other threads about learning to like yourself and I know this is an issue for me. How do you do that?

I really struggle with things I've done in the past, struggle to get over them, and have no confidence.

Maybe someone can recommend a book that could help?

I thought liming sounded quite interesting. Smile

I suggest you learn a new skill and volunteer somewhere. These two things helped me greatly when I was recovering from depression and not liking myself much at all.

If you want a book you could try reading The Chimp Paradox. It could be a good starting point.

I work more or less full time during the day, so no time to volunteer.

Also struggle to get out of the house alone at the moment.

Thanks, I'll have a look at The Chimp Paradox.

For me, it was learning that I am a valid person without any of my achievements and that I am loveable. Luckily I have a DP who expresses this a lot and is not "into" achieving for achieving's sake. But it was quite difficult to get there. I think it is a lot to do with figuring out who YOU are and learning to accept others as they are too. I used to be much more judgmental and I applied that same harshness to myself
