What dose are you on?

75, I think? Only a week's worth initially.

It's twice a day BTW.

I'm on that dose, reduced from 100mg. I'm not huge (yet - currently scoffing ice cream). For me it's working well, it's sedating but with no hangover effect, and helps with pain. Hard to gauge effect on anxiety as I was already on other mess when I started it, however adding it into the mix seemed to be the breakthrough for me. I've also done a lot of therapy re anxiety, but it's a hell of a lot easier to engage in that when you're less of a nervous wreck. So all in all, a positive experience. I've been on it about 18 months, weight has remained roughly stable, it's a little higher than I'd like but still healthy BMI.

Sorry, also missed the post when you said twice a day. I guess you might find it quite sedative, but that might be good if you're very anxious.

The first time I took it I felt a bit high/drunk the next morning (was quite nice actually) but that only happened once.

Ooh thanks for the personal experience This, I've never known anyone on it before so just reading side effects lists is a bit scary! I'm glad to hear your weight hasn't been affected. I'm desperate not to go back to being the size I used to be IYSWIM.

I wonder what difference the dose makes. I'm glad it is effective for you.

You're welcome. Side effects lists are hair-raising reading!

I used to take 700mg twice a day. No weight gain.

Bonus, Sun Smile

Thanks for your post. Its good to know weight gain isn't completely inevitable (though I'm prone to it so suppose I will still need to be careful). It sounds like it was good for you if the only reason you came off was pregnancy?

Ooh another one with no weight gain, good good Grin thanks Seven.

Is there anything else anyone can think of that I should know about it?

I found it made my shake a bit worse, but to be honest, I've always had shaky hands!

I took a huge dose, too.

Other than that, it was good. Worked for four years or so before I had to change to something else. That was more because it interfered with my other meds, too.

Has anyone tried pregabalin and then come off it again? If so did you experience any withdraw symptoms like with SSRI anti depressant?

I had horrific withdrawal symptoms and ended up being sent home from work twice and going to hospital three times.

Too anxious about side effects to take anxiety drug Grin

Take it. I was the same and God I wished I'd started earlier.

Remember that you might never need to stop and if you do, you can start taking less so that the effects aren't so bad. I had to go cold turkey because the med interference made my organs fail.

I'd still take it again if I could. It was more than worth it for the relief it gave.
