Mental health

How to help a friend?

I have a friend and colleague whose mental health I am considerably worried for. We work in a high pressured environment and she has said she feels like she's heading for a breakdown due to family stuff that she won't go into.

She blows hot and cold, is erratic can be rude and then over friendly. She is all over the place. I don't want to go into too much detail but I'm very concerned.

How can I encourage her to get help?

Can you meet for a coffee (lunchtime maybe?) and ask how she is, express that you're concerned and ask how you can help.

The people that have helped me the most are the ones who acknowledged the elephant in the room as such.
