was prescribed it yesterday for anxiety. i just generally feel worried most of the time about nothing in particular, but i have this constant knot in my stomach like something bad is going to happen. i also think i am depressed as well as i feel down most of the time lately

i had a miscarriage 3 months ago at 12 weeks, well it was missed at 6 weeks and it was also twins. i don't know if that has anything to do with it as well.

anyway have never taken citalopram before and just wondered what sort of results people have had from it? good i hope!

I have quite bad anxiety mainly due to worrying going to get some deathly disease or I have some terrible illness and im
Going to die and leave my kids behind. I'm also a worrier . I've been on 10 mg citalopram which has been a lifesaver for me , took about a week to kick in and I was fine. I had trouble sleeping the first few nights but settled down eventually. I got a bit anxious yesterday soay need my dose upped but I'm deffo more chilled. Hope that helps

I was all to hell, and it put me straight within a few months. Amazing stuff.

One of my work colleagues was in such a state that he ended up on 60mg doses. It took a while, but he is absolutely fine now.

It is awesome stuff. It should be in the tap water.

I found it great once they had got the dosage right (iirc I started on 20mg and they put it up to 40mg)

Initially I found I was having problems being sleepy during the day with them and the doctor told me to ignore the instructions to take them first thing in the morning. With a bit of trial and error I found taking them at 7pm-ish meant I slept well and wasn't tired during the day.

I'm on it due to anxiety, went all the way up to 60mg but had to decrease to 40mg when they changed the maximum dose. It is really good and stopped the anxiety, did have problems with sleep to start with though, found if I took them in the morning like the Dr said to, it made me really tired all day.

I am on citalopram 20mg and they work well for me. It can (but not always) be a bit shit to start with and they almost make you feel worse but if you can hold on to the fact that it will pass then they are worth persevering with.

I take mine in the morning. It does not make me at all sleepy.

It takes a few weeks to start working properly so you have to stick with it.

Good luck xx
