I'm coming off it because it's not working. I'm going to get prescribed something else in a week. usually I just feel numb. I don't know if it's the withdrawal symptoms or just the realisation of how shit my life actually is. I've lost 2 jobs and dropped out of uni since I started taking it. I have no idea how to fix my life or even if there's any point trying.

Hi hexagonal. I've been on citalopram off and on for 13 years, and every time i come off i feel exactly like you have described. I would definitely put it down to withdrawal. Surprised you werent given anything else in the meantime, coming off cold turkey is horrendous. Do you know what you'll be prescribed next?

I also felt terrible for a good week or so afterwards, which i know sounds bad but tell yourself that it's not really YOU feeling like this, it's just a chemical reaction that will pass.

Hugs flowers and brew

i had to change from Citalopram to another med, and felt the same. New meds are not great, but scared to change again as would have the same withdrawl. I hope new meds work for you x

Hi, thanks for the replies. I've been prescribed 15mg Mirtazapine now, took my first one last night and slept for about 13 hours, I'm actually still tired but made myself wake up. I read it's better for anxiety than Citalopram, so I'm hoping this one will work for me smile
