Little tiny bits of happiness

Thought this would be a good place for those of us who are struggling to note down little things in our day that make us smile. No matter how tiny and inconsequential. Because we are so used to being overwhelmed with negativity and broken down by it, we miss the good things that will help us get through.

Even the tiny little things help.

So my good thing for today is..

  • driving past a man walking 3 king charles spaniels who were all wagging their tails at exactly the same time.

What a good idea for a thread.

This morning DH left me a note on a large box of Weetabix on kitchen worktop saying 'look what's in here !!!!!'. Inside he had found about a quarter of a bottle of milk that DS (13 Yrs !!) had put inside absentmindedly the night before. I suppose we should be thankful the fridge wasn't full of Weetabix.....sigh....

As I was putting my 4 year old dd to bed, I struggled to read a bedtime story, feeling knackered and emotional, but got through it, then she said 'I love you a thousand times mummy' and gave me a big squeeze.

Lovely idea for a thread. I asked my DCs to share bags of mini eggs they'd been given. They both gave me three yellow ones - cos they're my favourite ones [busmile]

Grin Loving these. I'll add another, DS (just turned one) sitting cross legged on a coffee table, looking for all the world like a little pixie on a toadstool.

My DS was in goals at footi today and doing really well. His team - mate came up to him and said "you've made some great saves tonight Luke.....that one you tipped over the bar". DS looked so chuffed.

Great idea for a thread! I popped down to the shops at lunch, got the most ridiculous and garish (children's) HAPPY BIRTHDAY banner for my DH's (38th) birthday on Saturday. His face will be a picture - that cheered me up!
