as depression/anxiety returning :-( so awful.
Mainly physical symptoms, but finding it difficult to concentrate at times, keep stable on an even keel. Pain in chest and feel pure exhaustion. Also feeling trapped in my life/current situation. I have managed to get out of this feeling before, but a recent breakup has triggered it again.
I am so sick of this illness and feel like an idiot going to gp. yet again :-(
i know a lot of people feel the same, so sorry if i sound self absorbed..I am just really struggling :-(

Please don't feel you're being a pain going back to the doctors, if you start to feel bad again, get yourself back there before the month is up.

Definitely.

Is the thought that you're putting the doctor out coming from you or from him do you think?

Because if it's from him you should think about changing, (if that's possible for you?).

There should be help out there and you should get it when you need it, not at the allotted time you're allowed when it suits them.

You say you don't think he knew how serious it was getting, was that because you found it difficult to get across how it actually is in the few minutes slot you get to talk to him?

If it is, you could say to the receptionist when you book the appointment that you have something you'd like to talk about with the doctor and could you have a longer appointment? (although I'm only going on what our doctors say, and they encourage you to get a couple of slots if you know you're going to be longer, I can imagine some practices might not be up for that).

Hi thanks for replies..
I am hoping the bad part with ride itself out and become more managable. I have had depression and anxiety for years on and off and to be quite honest i feel embarrased going to gp.. yet again.
I think i feel ashamed telling all to be honest, part and parcel of the depression i guess. I started citalopram yesterday, i was awake for 4 hours in the night and i have bad sickness today. could the sickness be a side effect?

Hi cappuccino nausea is a fairly common side effect of a lot of SSRIs, but if you're actually vomiting it might be a stomach bug - anyone else in the family had one? I find rehydration salts are v helpful and calming things down, and plain food like biscuits, dry toast (apol if you do all this already!)

I know what you mean about finding it embarrassing, but it is an illness and a very common one, and your recurrences don't make it any less so. When I originally started ADs my GP (who in retrospect I'm not too impressed with) said come back in a month... I ended up back the next week wondering what to do about the side effects.. and since my GP went on mat leave, have been seeing another (more sympathetic?) GP practically every week..

Hope your sickness calms down soon. Take care.
