Ok so I have a 4 month old ds who I love and adore and who makes me laugh and smile everyday, however when he is asleep I get really tearful and stressed. I can't remember the last time I was truly happy, I am tired all the time and just want to sleep I'm very lethargic and it takes a lot of effort to get motivated. I am also very paranoid and keep thinking that people are against me and I also suffer with anxiety. My health visitor hasn't said much on the situation but has reffered me to a mental health specialist. I really want to be happy again and I want people to start enjoying my company again. Please help, what's wrong with me???

You don't sound depressed, you sound like most of the young mums. You are probably very tired. You can't anymore come and go as you wish. Real depression is different, but unfortunately people think tiredness etc is depression. Can you organize some time for yourself and do things you like?

First, have a blood test for Thyroid funtion to rule out a glandular problem, and talk about this to your GP .

It definitely sounded like anxiety and depression to me, I'm glad you're getting this addressed now rather than suffering. Really hope you get the right treatment, good luck
