Has anyone found ADs helped combat binge eating?

Hiya
I have previously tried citalopram, escitalopram and venlafaxine - I found that, if anything, that is when my binging started - almost as though they chilled me out so much I had no self- discipline when it came to resisting sweet foods and I ended up putting on 2 or 3 stones. Am off them (since 2009) and back to normal weight (though still have to resist tendency to binge) but feeling terribly low and GP has suggested trying Prozac - he said this tends to encourage weightloss. Any thoughts? One final question (bit personal sorry) do you find that ADs suppress your libido?
thanks in advance x

Oh how I wish I could help.

I found they all made me eat. My gp told me that the one she uses for people who don't want to experience weight gain (like the rest of us do Hmm) is Lofepramine.

Anything that hits serotonin generally will make you eat. Lofepramine hits noradrenaline so less like to make you binge.

HTH

Venlaflaxine was a 3 stone weight gain but stabilised crippling depression
Lack of control was shocking

I currently feel much less drowsy on a new anti-epileptic drug (Keppra); & taking 225mg Venlafaxine M/R has helped to lift the severe depression i had. So now i feel livelier & full of energy.
I have to go for a walk every day to get rid of my excess energy.
I actually find myself wanting to go to the gym & eat healthy food now which is NOT normal for me - but that's fine!

Binge eating slowly stopped on 20 mg fluoxetine ( Prozac) daily , and never had the urge again, even when came off it. I lost a lot of weight too, which I didn't really need to lose. I think it made my metabolism higher, but don't know if that is medically possible . No libido though :(
