It has been truly amazing ! I can not recommend it enough. I have gone from a constant stabbing fear in my guts, to a feeling of melting chocolate. I was drinking over a bottle of wine a night to try and dull it, I have not touched a drop since Thursday. I now wake up with waves of pleasure washing all over my body, and go to sleep within 10 minutes of lying down. I have not had any intrusive horrific disturbing thoughts. I have not had to actively do anything or try and structure my thoughts like I was told to in CBT. I was quite sceptical, and walked away from it thinking it wouldn't work. I have just had the first anxiety free 48 hours of my life and it is wonderful.

If you are considering this treatment, please please give it a try - it does work. There is hope !!!

how did you find your hynotherapist?

I saw him on the Katie Price programme, he cured her of a swimming phobia. I looked him up and he sounded good.

I was very sceptical, but so desperate for some relief that I thought I would try it. When I walked away, I felt silly, like I had wasted a lot of hard earned cash. I think it was worth 10 times the amount that I paid.

Actually, I did go to another one a couple of years ago, but it didn't make any difference. Ali Campbell was a completely different experience. He told me that I had to go home and have at least 6 hours of natural sleep after the session before it would work. I ended up only managing 5 and felt only slightly better the next day. I had a really good 8 hours the following night and woke up a different person.

Ali has also helped me with my anxiety and panic attacks

That is fab!

It can help and do amazing things - when you think about it, most problems people have fall into two categories - they have got into a bad way of thinking, or a bad way of coping with life/crap. Hypnotherapy just irons out the kinks a bit andouts you back on track.

What part of the country does he work from, or did you travel a long way to see him?

Worth every penny! Do you do relaxation or self-hypnosis sessions?

I was having several panic attacks a day. I've done CBT but they were triggerless do it was hard to resolve them. Now I start to get the feeling I'm going to get an attack but then it just fizzles out x

CBT is best for specific things (like PTSD). You have been 'rewired' to self soothe! Great isn't it? Human beings are often their own worst enemy and in many cases there is no one cause or 'trigger' for insomnia or panic attacks etc. Be wary of therapists who insist that there must be one, or who tell you that you need to find out what is causing a symptom.

I'm kind of left with "anticipation anxiety" like I'm waiting for something to happen lol. Frontpaw u seem to know alot about this, if you have any relaxation self help tips could you perhaps pm them to me? X

that's alot of money. i dont know yet how many sessions i will require so i could be somewhere in that region too. it will be worth it tho, for me. I have anticipation anxiety - im constantly waiting for an anxiety attack to happen and then i end up taking one cos im thinking about it so much! catch 22. the mind is a strange thing.

It depends on what is abusing the anxiety how many sessions you will need. One or two for general 'ofuckofuckofuck' panick attacks - mid life crisis, sick family member, redundancy, general stresses... To as many as six for surviving a mugging or fatal car crash, or abuse, rape etc.

Find someone who is qualified, insured and has experience in your problem. Prices will vary, depending on where you are and now experienced the pratitioner is. Expensive doesn't always equal good though, so check carefully, do your homework and don't sign up for xx number of sessions up front. A therapist will not know until they have done one session how many you will need. It depends on the problem, cause and the client. You may go for one session and think 'I don't like this person!'. Fair enough reason to not go back. Just as a therapist can suggest you see someone else of they don't feel they can help you. If you are in financial straights, ask if they have any discounts, or if you can offer them some sort of service in return - ie leafleting, writing an article for them if you write, marketing if you are a marketer, etc.

If you feel yourself simmering up to an attack, do the old elastic band (or pop a nice bright coloured hairband) on your wrist trick, and give it a good hard snap against the inside of your wrist. Think at the same time 'no! I am NOTgoing to,go there!!!' or your own preferred wording . It will snap you out of it (excuse the pun).
