Tiredness and headaches on low dose citalopram! Does it get better?

Hi all, I've been taking 10mg of Citalopram for just over 2 weeks for depression and anxiety, My GP has said that she would like to put me on a higher dose once she has seen how I'm getting on with the 10mg but I don't know if I can carry on like this.

I'm so tired all the time, I literally want to sit and do nothing. My head has been pounding for the last week, I've lost my appetite. My depression makes me very irritable and impatient and now this seems worse because of the tiredness and constant headache. Do these symptoms lessen over time? If the GP ups my dose will the symptoms get worse?

I'm seriously thinking of stopping taking them but know that if I do i'll never get better. I've had depression on and off since I was 17 and have had medication and given up in the past because of the symptoms. I don't want to give up this time! I don't want to spend the rest of my life feeling miserable:(

It sounds like classic weaning onto citalopram symptoms. It will pass soon. Do persevere. Sleep some more, take paracetamol based painkillers, eat regularly.
