I think it can start any time up to a year after giving birth.

You can get depressed at any time regardless if whether it's in the post natal period or not.

Yes even with no symptoms before that. If you think you may be affected speak to your HV or GP whichever you like best.

They're both nice, but I have developed a strong relationship with my hv recently. Might talk to her, see if maybe she's come with me if I needed to talk to gp

My PND, which I firmly believe it was, started at 11 months, just before I went back to work.

Madmouse is right about the 4 month thing. If you get on well with your HV that's great. Mine offered to come to the GP with me.
Hope you feel better soon.

I was diagnosed when my son was 1 year so I would say it can start at any time after the birth of a baby.

I'm not even certain it's pnd. But I feel weird and unlike myself and numb and nauseous and I nearly had a panic attack just now during feeding - I just wanted to push my beautiful ds off my boob because I felt so...i don't know. Weird. Uncomfortable. I've really enjoyed breast feeding, I have no idea why I just freaked out.
