a good friend's sister has severe OCD, and drinks a lot to deal with it. she refuses medication, saying it doesn't help her. all that helps is talking to her sister (my friend) about the things that worry her, but this has been going on for some years now, and no improvement, if anything, things are worse. they are both lovely people, and I'm concerned for both of them, and keen to suggest what might help. would value your views, thanks, T4T

thanks AdverseCamber (are you doing driving lessons - I can sympathise, I passed my test seventh time this year)

I think what you say makes a lot of sense - to reflect on wider things that the problem. My friend's sister is an amazing funny talented woman - to get her talking to calmness, and then reflect on good things might be just the thing.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, it has helped a lot - and I wish you a very healthy and enjoyable new year.
