My son is nine and still struggles with fear over monsters, aliens etc. He hates to be in a room alone and it is making life for the family unbearable. I am now completely anxious about it and can feel myself slipping mentally. I am worried this is a sign he will have a mental condition all his life. I had irrational thoughts in my twenties and although medication got rid of it (they have never returned) I am so worried he has inherited it from me.
