How do you know if it's depression or not?

I have been feeling unmotivated lately but I suppose looking back it's not just a recent thing. Stuff happens in life that makes me fed up. I don't know if it's just extra stress because the dc are out of school soooooo long too or if it is depression. How do I tell? Do I need to go visit GP?
Some days I can get stuff done but other days I struggle.

Try this online test, school holidays are stressfull times especially the summer ones as they seem to last forever but if it continues once your DC are back at school i would see your GP.

I don't venture onto this part of MN really, but the thread title struck a chord with me as I've been feeling low for a couple of weeks now. I've done the test linked, and scored 18, so now what? I guess I need to see gp, this is all uncharted territory to me Sad

Hi 2blessed2bstressed Do go and see your GP, maybe book a double appointment? Tell them how you're feeling - it may help to make a list. Most people can be treated in primary care (i.e. by the GP).
