And the difference between cbt and counselling? My dh is looking for help regarding anger management. I don't really have a clue what cbt entails but gave heard it's very good, Ive been to counselling before and found it a complete waste of time.

Dh has found a Cbt therapist who charges 120 per session - very expensive but if it works it'll be money well spent.

Would really appreciate and information/ advice/ experiences.

CBT doesn't dig into your past - it deals with the problems you have in the here and now and helps to develop changes in behaviour and coping strategies. It is good for concrete problems like fear/phobia, anger, anxiety.

I've had a year and a half of counselling and therapy to come to terms with my past and now I'm waiting for CBT to deal with anxiety which is a part of all that. The counselling has helped me to see why I'm anxious, but CBT will hopefully help to deal with the actual anxiety.
