What do you do? I feel so anxious and depressed, going through and tough time with DH and money worries, serious ones. I dread the post and the phone. It's getting sorted slowly, but the levels os stress are very hard to cope with on a daily basis. I have medication from the docs to help me sleep, but the constant level of pressure eats away and numbs everything.

Do any of you have an ways of coping with it all?

Well I find that accpeting life is difficult instantly makes it a little less difficult, if that makes sense.

Accepting that sometinhg is going to be hard makes it easier.

I've recently started on Citalopram and feel as if I may have been struggling in much the same way as you are. I never thought I would end up on anti-depressants or even feel so bad that I would ever consider I was suffering from depression. I went into therapy a few months ago and my therapist advised me to go to my GP with a view to discussing anti-depressants, I did and I'm so glad now that I've opened myself up to additional 'support'. You clearly have a range of life struggles at the moment and there's no shame in asking for help from your GP, even if it's in the form of anti-depressants. My therapist asked me tonight what I would need to happen for things to ease a little bit and having thought about it, I realised there were lots of little things I could do that would make me feel better. I also find keeping a diary (to offload all my worries) at the end of every day (or when it suits) helps no end - trust me, it really does work. Good luck. I hope things start to improve for you soon.

Profiterole - I like your style. A good book and making plans does the world of good.

My coping strategies:
Riding my bike
Painting (if I have time)
Doing something totally fun and silly with my children or going for a walk with them in the fresh air
Shopping
Reading (also one never to be without a good book)
A good cup of coffee in the morning
A glass of wine in the evening if the day has been really hard
Talking to others and hearing their worries and woes
Watching Eastenders (life isn't that bad)
Crying - I am a big fan of a good cry
