Postnatal depression and Progesterone

I've looked up old threads on this and see that some people have been prescribed natural progresterone after childbirth. I am very keen to know how to persuade my GP to consider this. Having bipolar, I am high risk for psychosis after the birth of this baby. I insisted on no psychiatric drugs after the birth of DD as I wanted to breastfeed. I muddled through varying states of anxiety and mild depression for 15 months, a short bout of psychosis (I was detained for two weeks) and then more swings (more pronounced after my period returned). I have always had a day of suicidal thoughts three days before my period exactly when there is a slump in progesterone. I am now pregnant again and as last time, all anxiety and depression has lifted. I have no morning sickness, I am so relieved to have eight months of stability ahead and utterly convinced that progesterone is good for me. I am desperate to have injections after the birth and would really like the doctors on my side. I mentioned this to my psych who dismissed it immediately and said Dr Katharina Dalton was discredited and there were suicide cases under postnatal progesterone treatment (I am assuming from this that nobody kills themself while on psychiatric medication). Obviously there is 'no size fits all' with hormone or psychiatric treatment but I KNOW I'm right about this for me. I am hypothyroid too and I have read about links. How on earth do I get doctors to believe me? I will no go through that anxiety and psychosis again, esp not with a toddler and a newborn - I'm prepared to buy natural progesterone cream on the internet but I'd much rather have medical supervision. Please help!
