I have been trying to find a local person and have found a huge variety of charges for sessions. Ranging from £45 - £140 per 50 min session.

Im in the SE.

£140 seems like such a huge amount - but at the same time I dont want to 'waste' £45 on something that isnt worth doing.

Has anyone any idea how much I should be paying. Thanks x

I am in the Midlands Kizzie and £45 for 50 or 60 minutes seems to be the going rate in this area. £140 sounds ridiculous to me.

The thing is though there is no quick fix with any therapy so there might be sessions when you think it was a waste of money. It does take time to get used to the therapy and overall it can be a great benefit. CBT as you probably know deals with the "here and now" which is what most of use want when we are suffering from anxiety and depression,

The other important thing is that you find someone with whom you feel safe and comfortable, and you might have to try one or two as they do vary so much like all humans! Any good therapist will expect that you need to have an exploratory session to see if it suits you both, and if there is something that doesn't seem quite right for you, then you can always say you will need to go away and think about things before making another appt.

£60 per hour. SW.
I agree with NanaNina that it is important that you get the right person for you, though.
Good luck Smile
