So mad with myself

Started doing 16:8 this week and it's all been good. Have been cal counting too at 1200 a day for the last month. Tonight it all went wrong and I had 2 large glasses of cava and a babybel/crackers after my eating window AND over my calorie limit.

I wasn't even hungry. How do you sort yourself mentally? Sigh.

Hey, dont be too harsh on yourself. Its 1 night, plus you are still getting into habit of fasting. Just make sure you go 16 hours from the last thing youve had. Itll mean pushing your eating window back tomorrow, which might be more difficult so if it is you can remind yourself its because you had the extras so it has to be done.
It works for me and makes me think twice when i feel like eating later than my eating window Smile

You start by being far kinder to yourself. Treat yourself the way you would a dear friend.

@Bella444, one bad day doesn't undo all your previous good work. Don't dwell on it, start again the next day. Being kind to yourself also requires practice. Did you manage to make it to 3pm on Monday? How have you got on since?

Can't help with the mental thing as i caved yesterday as well! Forgive yourself its just one slip up.

Try brushing your teeth when you finish eating. Will put you off eating and drinking more.

Thanks both.

Yep I know you're right. Been on since but only lasted til 1pm the day after Confused. I also did a day of eating only in my window but not calorie counting. I feel back on track now.

Brushing teeth after dinner is an excellent suggestion.

This is the beauty of fasting... each day is a brand new day, you can put the previous day - good or bad - behind you.

Have you looked at changing your hours a bit? I was doing 16:8, fasting from 7pm until 11am but it didn't suit me very well. I still do 16:8 but actually extend the hours. The timescale that works best for me is start fasting anywhere from 2-3.3pm - and just fast for as long as I want to in the morning. My fast would end tomorrow at 7am but I never eat at that time so it would probably be 11am before I'd eat anything.

Have a fiddle with your hours and see what works best for you.

I really recommend a fasting app if you're not using one - I'm using Fastic and it's great.
