Fasting / 5:2 diet

Two meal day

I am going to try this for a while - I have a book the Two meal day...basically as it says eating two meals a day (I will do brunch / lunch and dinner) so kind of like 16:8 fasting in a way. I find it easier to stick to rather than tending to eat lots in the afternoon as i have a tendency to do with 16:8.

Just thought would post for motivation and in case wanton wanted to join in.

I’ll join you. I did this after my middle child was born and lost 15lbs in 16 weeks. It was amazing. I now need to shed some weight after last baby. I keep stopping and starting and I’m getting nowhere fast this time. I need to lose about 15lbs again!😩😩😩😩

Hi Lolly! Yes i also lost weight with it before, about a stone in the weeks before the Summer holidays doing this, then since then have let it lapse and has been stable since then but would like to lose maybe a stone more and do less snacking / grazing etc.

Yesterday was my first day and I had a large bowl of the nut muesli from Dorset cereals around 11am...quite filling and kept me going until about 2pm when I had an apple for a snack and then usual dinner with the family about 6pm.

The book is only about a fiver on amazon if you wanted to get it - he recommends more low carb and then allows higher on days with more aerobic exercise. I kind of walk a lot and do quite a bit anyway so not bothering so much with this but going to try eating more foods like veggies and slow release carbs rather than stuff which will make me more hungry...and just see how it goes.

I am going to try and list some potential benefits to try and motivate myself:

Might save money- less meals, less buying expensive snacks and lunch in town (but can do if I want sometimes as it doesn't limit what you eat etc)

Less hassle just thinking what to eat twice a day

Not restrictive- if more hungry some days just eat bigger meals that day and less on less hungry ones

Going to try also cutting booze / wine- save money and stop tendency to eat stuff after drinking

Could save this extra money and spend on something nice / put towards Christmas

Going to try keep doing this to Christmas and see how it goes. If it gets too tricky / difficult with the family at weekends could just do on weekdays instead as an option- but will see

Thanks Shurtlegreen!

Here is a link to the book it seems to have gone back up in price but some of the other sellers are selling it for a fiver - I don;t think we really need a copy though just to try this
