As this topic is fasting what i think is that in itself would mean low blood sugar / insulin in itself, not sure about whether about of carbs etc as such conflicting advice about. It is surely linked to blood sugar levels however not just weight and metabolic syndrome. people can be skinny fat for example.

It's a long article.
It's hard to make head nor tail of it!

I read it as a bit anti low carb saying "there is no evidence that insulin from carbs increases appetite" then goes on about the importance on including carbs.

I was not expressing an opinion just sharing :-) not sure i understand it either!!

I have personal experience of going low (not no) carb losing weight, losing fat and feeling much more satiated. I can even happily fast now, just find it boring rather than experiencing terrible hunger pans.

My father was diabetic and reversed it pretty quickly going low carb. At the point it was reversed he was still overweight.

It is a joined up model of how our bodies work. It works well in conjunction with sports theory such as Maffetone training which works with fat adaptation and utilising fat as an energy source. Fat is not the baddy. You might find this man's lectures and research interesting:

My no1 rule in life is to do the opposite of what the DM says.
